Sample Writings

On this page you will find a few samples of my writing.  I don't believe in posting full stories here, but I have a few micro-fiction stories that I would like to share.  If you like them, feel free to make a comment on my guestbook.  If not, well just keep it to yourself.

Beautiful Murder

There's an art to murder.  A slice by night; a highway shooting gallery.  Murder can be beautiful, and you will be my masterpiece.

A co-worker came to me today in a panic.

"Someone murdered the boss!"

Ignoring him, I continued working.

"Did you hear me?"

I leaned back in my chair, replace my letter opener in my desk drawer but didn't say anything.

"You're no help," my co-worker mumbled and stomped off.

Smiling, I went back to work.

Too Dark

It's too dark and I'm afraid.  I guess lots of kids are.  When it gets dark, I turn the lights on.  There are others in the house and they are trying to sleep, so the turn them off.

I turn the lights back on, but they turn them off.  I tell them I don't like this game, but they don't listen.

I'm scared, so I turn the lights on again.  Now they say the house is haunted.  I sure hope not.  That scares me more.

Why would they think the house is haunted?  Can't ghosts be afraid of the dark too?
